Saturday morning, the Alzheimer’s Association invited residents to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's at the McGrath Amphitheater.
Registration opened at 8 a.m., with the walk taking place at 9 a.m..

Every dollar that is raised through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s allows the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support while accelerating critical research.
More than six million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease, the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States.
Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
In Iowa alone, there are more than 66,000 people living with the disease and 73,000 caregivers.
Iowa's News Now spoke with Doug Wagner, host of the Morning Show on WMT, to talk more about the 5k.
Truly, we can ban together like this.", said Wagner. "And that soon we're not gonna have to do this again because, there is an end to Alzheimer's that is out there. I can tell by looking at all the purple clad out there, all the people holding up the flowers that I'm not alone. Are you ready for the end of Alzheimer's?
The run will 5k run will return again next year.
